Rockin Green REMIX Review & Giveaway!

Okay readers you have NO idea how excited I am! I had the AWESOME privilege of reviewing Rockin' Green Cloth Diaper and Laundry Detergent's new REMIX formula! In case you aren't familiar with Rockin' Green, here is the low down on this awesome detergent:

Rockin' Green Detergents "are safe for you and the environment. Rockin’ Green is: Dye free, Comes in several yummy scents (& an unscented version for sensitive skin), No fillers, No enzymes or optical brighteners, 100% Phosphate free, Vegan, Great for sensitive skin and much much more."

"Rockin’ Green LLC was born out of necessity."

Rockin’ Green was founded in 2009 by Kim Webb, an avid cloth diapering mom who desired a better way to clean her cloth diapers and to treat her son’s sensitive skin issues.

Rockin’ Green manufactures three types of detergents, including:
♦ Hard Rock (for hard water systems, which can be the most troubling water to
deal with),
♦ Soft Rock (for soft water systems or babies with very sensitive skin), and
♦ Classic Rock (for normal water conditions or those with moderate hard water
systems).

Rockin’ Green also comes in several yummy natural scents!

♦ Smashing Watermelons: Juicy watermelon blend that smells like real
watermelons
♦ The Green Tea’s: Zen-like blend of green tea and aloe
♦ Rage against the Raspberry: Raspberry and sweet honey blend
♦ Mötley Cleän: Fresh and clean-smelling blend has hints of ocean, fresh linen
and sunshine
♦ Lavender Mint Revival: Melody of lavender and mint
♦ Mighty Mighty Marshmallow- Sweet sugar and vanilla
♦ Earth, Wind, & Orchids: Flowered with inviting hints of tartness, floral, woods, honeysuckles and sugar.
♦ Bare Naked Babies: Unscented – you’ll just smell your baby’s sweet smell
All scents are made with 100% natural essential oils and are organic.

Now that you know all the specs, here is what I thought of the new Remix Formula!

As if Rockin' Green wasn't awesome to begin with, they reformulated it and made it BEYOND awesome. If there is such a word for beyond awesome I have no idea what the word would be, but I'd like to call it Rocksome, hehe! As you may have read in my previous review about Rockin' Green, I love it! I have used the old Classic Rock formula in the Rage against the Raspberries scent and the unscented Bare Naked Babies. I have also purchased the Funk Rock Ammonia Booster, which I love and can't get enough of! It is a great addition to my pre-wash routine. For this review of the Remix Formula I chose Classic Rock once again, but this time I tested out the Lavender Mint Revival scent. When I opened up the package the scent was pleasing. It sort of smelled like a Mint Herbal Tea. I liked it, I just didn't love it as much as I LOVE the Rage against the Raspberries scent. I will probably not choose the Lavender Mint Revival again in the future, however if you like the natural herbal type scents, then it is the one to go with. I noticed a slight difference in the softness of my diapers after the first wash with the Remix formula. I could tell a drastic change from the first was to the second wash. ALL of my inserts and my minky diapers were SO much softer to the touch and everything smelled fresh and clean! I knew that the Rockin' Green would clean my diapers great, I was just in shock at the softness, they almost felt brand new right out of the package again! Thank you Rockin' Green for going above and beyond once again!

Overall, as you can tell, I am extremely pleased with the performance of this detergent! Please check out Rockin' Green and see for yourself how Rocksome it is!

Cost: Small - $13.95; Large - $22.95 (Price per wash is about $.13 per load!)

Let's Do The Cha Cha

Okay, I feel OLD! I now realize that I am no longer one of the cool young kids. I do not know the coolest gadgets nor the coolest web sites, etc. I was recently introduced to ChaCha by a 13 year old! What is ChaCha you ask? Good question, because if your like me you didn't know about this AWESOME site on the web! Do you ever come across a question that you wish you had the answer to right this second, just because you were curious and didn't have access to the internet or books? Well ChaCha is your new best friend! Many of us text now, even I do which is saying something cause I normally dodge the phone like the plague. You can text questions to ChaCha (242-242) and within seconds you get the REAL answer!

I recently texted ChaCha the following question: How many bones are in a horse?

ChaCha's Answer: 205 bones make up a horse's entire body. 80 of those are in the legs!

SO, not only did I get my answer but a cool little fact as well!

I also asked: Who was the 20th President?
(I am not a history buff, so I had no idea)

ChaCha's Answer: James A. Garfield

My Question: Who was the youngest person to climb Mount Everest?

ChaCha's Answer: BBC: 05/22/10 13-yr-old American Jordan Romero became the youngest person to scale Mount Everest.

Anther great thing about ChaCha is that it is free to use! ChaCha does not charge anything for it's services. The only fees you have to worry about are the Message and Data Rates from your service provider.

Have fun doing the ChaCha dear followers!

Cloth Solutions Review & Giveaway

For quiet some time I've used tampons when the "time of month" comes along. Of course, as most Mom's know, you can't use them after you give birth. The doctor's want new mother's to wait about six weeks postpartum to use tampons again, so you have to resort to other methods of protecting your panties. The only solution I knew of was to buy heavy duty, overnight, extra long pads for the first couple weeks postpartum, then use smaller heavy regular length pads. With Big Sister, I didn't seem to notice any issues with the disposable pads. I'm not sure what has happened to my body chemistry, but after Little Sister was born I had a LOT of issues with disposable pads. Maybe this is too much information, however, the plastic type stuff disposable pads are made from just doesn't like my skin now. The insides of my legs and the areas around the outer edge of the pads felt chaffed and itched badly! I was going CRAZY using the disposable pads. After my six weeks passed I naturally switched back to my trusty tampons, but even those just didn't feel "right", not horribly bad like the pads, just not "right".

As I've stated frequently in my blogs, I love cloth diapers. I love to enter giveaways for cloth diapers and I love try out new cloth diapers on my girls. While I was reading through a cloth diaper blog I came across an article that introduced me to the wonderful world of "Mommy Cloth" or Reusable Cloth Menstrual Pads. It was actually an article about how the Cloth Pads are great to use not only for menstruation but incontinence as well. I felt like such a ding dong! I cloth diaper my girls, yet I never even thought about the possibility of there being a cloth alternative for me as well.

Next, began my journey of learning what types of Cloth Pads, fabrics, absorption, all the fun little details. I didn't know where to turn first, there are SO many options on the web. I finally came across a Shop on Etsy that had all the things I was looking for: Zorb, Bamboo Cotton, and a hidden layer of PUL to prevent leaks.

Cloth Solutions is a lovely Etsy Shop owned by a Mother of 5 from Boise, Idaho. When it comes to her Etsy Shop, JeanAnn has two top priorities:
1. Quality. She use the highest quality materials available. She pays attention to detail. Her motto is, "Don't sell what you wouldn't buy yourself".
2. Customer Service. If you are not satisfied with her product, let her know. She will continue to work with you until you are.

Her store features hand made eco-friendly items, including a large selection of Cloth Pads. She keeps her prices reasonable, has custom order slots available, and offers Free Shipping for select items to U.S. customers!

For this review, JeanAnn sent me a 7 inch Pantyliner and a 9 3/4 inch Medium to Heavy Flow Pad from her Cloth Solutions Etsy Shop to review. When I took them out of the package I couldn't believe how cute and soft they were!

Earlier this month I was able to review the Cloth Pads. I'm not sure what the weather's been like around other parts of the US, but I live in Southern Indiana and it has been pretty HOT this past week. I was a little reluctant to wear them while I was out working in the barn because I was afraid they would make me extra hot and sweaty. I was pleasantly surprised when everything stayed cool and comfortable. They sort of felt like wearing really thick panties. There were no awkward, embarrassing, crinkling or swishy noises like disposable pads as I moved. I also experienced no chafing or itching like I had been with the disposables, which was SO nice and such a relief! The outer shell is made out of fleece I believe and it really helped keep the pad from sliding. The neat little snap also helped it stay in place. I was somewhat concerned that I would be able to feel the snap, but I couldn't feel it at all. Even as I sat up and sat down I couldn't tell that there was a snap. The fabrics seemed to absorb well and I didn't have problems with leaking, although I have never really had a super heavy flow. It was also comforting to know that there was a layer of PUL in the pad to prevent fluid from leaking all the way through as well.

Overall, I had a great experience using these Cloth Pads from Cloth Solutions. They are really well made and I can tell they are going to last for a long while. I highly recommend giving Cloth Pads a chance!

Cost: $15.00 for Custom Resusable Sampler Pack (3) Pads with Pul and Zorb up to $30.00 for

I need a digital camera!

Well, I just can't take it anymore! My digital camera is dead! The flash went out a couple months ago and I've resorted to either using my cell phone which doesn't take very high quality photos and produces mostly blurry pictures of my babies because they move around so much OR borrowing my mother in laws camera, which she uses on a regular basis so that is problematic in itself. I haven't been in the market for one for a while and I've never really researched digital cameras very much. Here is what I need in a digital camera:

1) The ability to take good quality photos indoors and outdoors.
2) The ability to take photos of moving objects (my kids) without parts of the photo coming in blurry.
3) The ability to take good quality videos with sound.
4) A camera that isn't going to break my pocketbook, has to be reasonably priced.

Anyone out there have any suggestions? I'm getting desperate! Little Sister is already 4 months old and I don't think I have even 1/3 of the amount of photos of her as I did Big Sister! There are so many moments I want to capture and right now I'm just SO limited! Please give me ideas!

Or if you are from a digital camera company or sell digital camera and need a reviewer I would be MORE than happy to test one out! PLEASE help me!

On a totally unrelated note, something has been killing my birds! I've lost all but 2 hens, a rooster, a Peacock, a Royal Palm Turkey, an African Goose, a Pekin Drake, and a Rouin Duck.  This is So not fair! I need to build again and make them varmint proof somehow! Ugh, this has been a rough Spring/Summer for my birds! To top it off, my Swedish Duck was laying on 11 eggs, they are all "half baked" and I put them in with my Goose hoping she will adopt them, but we will see. I'll keep you posted. After we lost our farm dog Joey, it seems like my birds are just not safe anymore! Good farm dogs are hard to find and hard to replace! RIP Joey we miss you!

Thanks for the help dear followers and have a GREAT weekend!

Slow Motion, Play, and FAST Forward

Before I became a mother there where several things I did not know about the experience of "being a mother". It's sort of like a secret society where you only get to know all the dirty little secrets once your a member of the club, in this case, the "Mommy Club".

When I was a child and even a young adult it seemed like every minute, hour, day, week, year, etc. seemed to linger on forever and move in slow motion. I was getting older obviously, but it didn't feel like I was growing or getting older. I didn't worry much about the future, I lived in the moment and those moments lasted forever. The instant I gave birth to Big Sister, ALL of that changed. Now that I am a member of the "Mommy Club" it seems like my life and everything around me has been placed in fast forward. There aren't enough hours in each day, I can't get everything done I want to do in a day, and my children seem to be growing like Wildflowers on STEROIDS right before my eyes! It's just not fair! I want to linger in the moment and go back to being in a world placed in slow motion. I want my babies to be babies forever. I want that sweet baby scent to last forever. I want those precious baby coos and the chubby little legs to last forever.

How did my Mom do it?

How does my Mom stand the fact that I am grown and I'm an adult and now a Mom as well?

Does it get easier?

Does she still long for the days when I was an infant and my world revolved around her and her love for me?

I guess as a Mom you don't get to choose. You have to do it, you have to let it get easier, you have to let your children grow up and help shape them into responsible adults, but still keep those precious baby moments close to your heart. This is one of those dirty little secrets I've been learning all too soon.

Big Sister is going to be TWO at the end of the month! TWO! In the back of my mind I keep thing that I can't possibly have a TWO year old, already, and yet I do! She is growing way too fast and learning so much every day. I remember the days when I was excited that she rolled over, began to crawl, then walk, and now she can RUN! Where has the time gone?

Little Sister just learned to roll over this week. For the past week she had been able to rotate from her tummy down, but hadn't been able to figure out how to rotate her shoulders the rest of the way, then all of a sudden it clicked. I wasn't even home, Daddy was watching the girls and I missed it. Unfortunately, I'm stuck on Fast Forward with no hopes of Rewind or Instant Replay.

I had intended this post to be a happy post about my girls' big achievements. As I began to write, however, it made me realize just how precious each moment is and became a reminder for me to cherish each moment I have with my girls and make the memories last forever.

So, dear followers, go home (or if you are home), play with your children, spend time with them, because before you know it, they WILL grow up!

A Couple Additions to the Blog

As some of you may notice, I have added a new tab to the top of the blog. I added a section for my Terms of Use and Disclosure Policy. Please read through them. Please don't let them scare you, I just wanted to include them on my blog to protect myself and my family for any harm that may come by me just speaking my mind now that I'm getting more traffic on the blog. Pretty soon, if I don't watch it, I may need writing tutoring to keep all my grammar and spelling in check! Just kidding!

I've also included a tab for my Sponsors. The Sponsors are those companies or individuals that have provided products for review and/or giveaway items!

Hope you all have a wonderful day and please come back soon dear followers for my upcoming reviews and giveaways!
