OraMD Review

Despite some serious internet problems this month, I finally have this review up and running for your viewing pleasure! I hope you all are as excited as I am about my very first Video Review!

So what did you think?
In case you weren't able to watch my Video Review, here it is in black and white:

Today, I would like to introduce you all to a product called OraMD.

"OraMD is an all natural liquid toothpaste, mouthwash and breath freshener that you will want to purchase now. OraMD is a potent bacteria fighter that is anti-bacterial, anti-microbial, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory with powerful plaque fighters eliminating the need for chemical laden toothpaste alternatives. This product is also has interdental access, meaning it gets in between the teeth and goes after the bacteria that is hiding in the nooks and crannies of your mouth and gums. This precise formulation of three 100% pure botanical oils of almond, spearmint, and peppermint is designed to kill the bad bacteria that are ravaging your gums. There are 100's of types of these 3 botanical oils and dozens of properties for each type - literally millions of combinations. This is a scientific formula matching the right properties of the right oils and designed specifically to combat the bacteria in your mouth. There's nothing like it on the market - it's fast effective, and leaves a lingering real fresh clean feeling in your mouth unlike anything you have experienced before." -information found at

My experience with the product was wonderful and I love it! It was a little intense at first, but the intensity did reduce the more times I used it. The directions state to use 3-5 drops when you brush your teeth, however since I have such a sensitive mouth 2-3 drops seem to work well for me. The thing I love most about this liquid toothpaste is that it isn't a paste and it doesn't foam up. I can tell right away if I didn't brush well enough because there isn't a bunch of foam all over my mouth,

After brushing with OraMD my mouth feels really clean and fresh and just like I came out of the Dentist's office. When I wake up in the morning after I brushed at night, my teeth don't have that "morning grunge" that I used to get when I used the normal toothpastes on the market. My teeth are as sleek as the night before, its awesome! It did take a couple times to get used to because I have been so used to regular toothpaste for so many years, but I just love it!

Because of the intensity, I would not recommend using it for children. Some children may be able to handle 1 drop but you should use your own judgement because every person is different.

I recently had a visit with my Dentist. No new cavities and she complemented me on my brushing. OraMD has worked amazing on my mouth! I honestly don't think I will change back to the average toothpaste ever again and I will recommend it everyone I know.

Are you interested yet? Well, here is all the information you need to enjoy OraMD yourself:

My Rating: A+ $$$
Click here to see what My Rating means!
Cost: $22.97 per bottle, lasts about 4 weeks when you used their 4 step process. I don't use breath fresheners or mouthwashes and I have been using OraMD for several months and still have some left.
Where to Buy: Online at

Julia Dweck Children's Book Reviews

My little girls LOVE books! Whether it is a book from the library or an eBook on our tablet, they love when Mama reads to them. I am sure there is a ton of research out there on the benefits of reading to young children but I don't need it. I can see the benefits as I watch my girls play and interact each day.

My girls and I were given the awesome opportunity to review several eBooks from author Julia Dweck. I received a copy of these EBooks complimentary in exchange for a fair, honest, non-compensated review. I hope you all enjoy the reviews and perhaps decide to read them to your little ones!

Mary Had A Sleepy Sheep
If your children are familiar with the nursery rhyme "Mary Had A Little Lamb," they are going to LOVE "Mary Had A Sleepy Sheep"! This new story of Mary's sheep is very creative, cute, and funny. It was written so that you can sing the words to the tune of "Mary Had A Little Lamb" as you read. My girls got a  huge kick out of Mary's sheep falling asleep EVERYWHERE! Poor Mary! There are also some fun activities at the end of the book which were very entertaining as well. My oldest loved flipping back through the story looking for the cat on each page! Julia Dweck did a great job writing this book and the illustrator came up with beautiful and creative ways to bring the story to life. Overall, I would highly recommend this book for children of all ages!

Blucy: The Blue Cat
Blucy is a great story for young children. Our family is actively involved helping shelter animals and this was a great story illustrating importance of adopting a homeless animal no matter how different it is. I like how even though Blucy had her naughty moments Mandy was able to over look them and love Blucy anyways resulting in a sweet perfect cat in the end. It has a wonderful message between the rhyming lines. Kudos to Julia Dweck for incorporating a lovely message into a sweet childen's book. The illustrations are beautiful as well and really help tell Blucy's story. We also loved the special games and facts at the end.

Humpfree: The Humpless Camel
Both of the girls were glued to the tablet screen as I read Humpfree: The Humpless Camel by Julia Dweck. The first time I read Humpfree to my girls, I had to stop for a moment to grab something from across the room. Big Sister yelled,"Wait I want to hear more about the Camel" and when HumpFree was sad both my girls kept kissing the screen on our tablet to make him feel better! I think this was their favorite Julia Dweck book so far! I love the lesson this book teaches, even though you may be different than others you are special just exactly how you are! The illustrations are adorable and entertaining, the illustrator did a wonderful job portray Humpfree's journey to find his humps! I highly highly recommend this story for children!

Julia Dweck has written several other children's books besides the ones above. You can check them out by visiting Amazon's Julia Dweck Page.

Fall v. October

Sorry I've kind of fallen off the face of the planet! I promise the blog WILL get more interesting in the weeks to come. I have some BIG plans ahead!

I love Fall! The color of Fall in nature with the bright reds, oranges, and yellows. I love Fall weather, the cool slight chill that beckons you to sit by a campfire and sip Apple Cider. To me Fall is the perfect time to ride and really enjoy the horses!
The Girls brushing their pony!
Ride 'em Cowgirls!
All these things I love, but I'm not going to lie, October is not my favorite month.

I do not celebrate nor do I enjoy anything to do with Halloween. The history of Halloween and why it was celebrated years and years ago are terrifying. I understand that it is commercialized now and that the reason people participate in Halloween is different but I can't help but feel like it is Wrong for my family.

Almost EVERYTHING on TV has to do with Halloween. You can't unsee something you have seen and I believe my daughters really don't need to see scary things if they don't have to. As they grow the world itself will be scary enough, they don't need these scary things bouncing around in their head now.

I have been filtering what Big Sister and Little Sister see, however Halloween stuff is everywhere. Just this week we walked into Target and there was a huge scary skeleton banner hanging as we walked in. Big Sister spotted it well before I did and pointed it out to me and said how scary it was. I know I can not shield them from everything, but I can equip them with THE MOST POWERFUL tool against anything scary.

God and Jesus Christ His Son!

I wish I could insert the theme song from the Veggie Tales episode "God Is Bigger Than The Boogie Man" right here!

Every time they are exposed to the Halloween scary things I remind them that God is more powerful than any of the scary things and that He will always protect them and keep them safe as long as they believe in God and Jesus, obey Him, and ask for His help and guidance.

"For I am the Lord your God who holds your right hand, and who says to you, do not be afraid. I will help you."
Isaiah 41:13 NLV

The Lord is my light and my salvation - so why should I be afraid? The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble?
Psalm 27:1 NLT

For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-descipline.
2 Timothy 1:7 NLT

I hope that they hold tight to these teachings and learn to fear nothing but God.

Have a wonderful evening dear followers and please stay tuned!

Kefir, he's that actor right?

Okay, so I've been reading a lot about Kefir water and finally decided to take the plunge and bought my very first Kefir grains. I started my first batch on the 4th, but I have a feeling I'm adding too much water because it wasn't as bubbly as I expected. I want to  play around a little bit with it and hopefully in future months I will be able to post some awesome Kefir water drink recipes.

For those that aren't familiar with Kefir water, here are a couple sites that give some great information about it and its benefits:

Meet The Goats: My Starter Herd

I've briefly introduced you to my goat adventures, but I figured I would give you all a glimpse of my whole starter herd of Nigerian Dwarf Goats, which includes 2 does and 2 bucks.

Prairie Wood Golden Dynasty

"Dyna" as we call her is the Diva and the spunky one out of the group. She loved to run and play and kick up her heels. She is bold and doesn't seem to be afraid of anything. Dyna tends to do pretty well at shows, she placed 2nd in her class at our first show and 1st in her class at the second show plus was awarded Reserve Champion Junior Doe. She seems to mature faster than my other doe and I hope that she milks well in the future! Big Sister insists that Dyna is "HER" goat.

Prairie Wood Mariposa Vistosa

"Mary" is a sweet quiet girl. She is go with the flow and easy to get along with. She loved to run and place but seems to be more interested in her surroundings and exploring. She seems to be a little slower to develop than Dyna and hasn't placed as well as in her first two shows. The older she gets it seems like her body is catching up. I plan to breed her much later than I will with Dyna, so that she has plenty of time to mature into a great milker. Little Sister insists that Mary is"HER" goat.

Alford Meadows Domino Joe

"Joey" is my shy boy. He isn't too wild about human contact, but will tolerate it. I wasn't sure if I would like him when I first bought him, but he is really growing on me, I like him build and his resilience. His dam raised triplets, so I am hopeful that he will pass on some nice milk genetics.

Bleat N Teats Johnny Be Good
"Johnny" was a bottle baby growing up and boy can you tell it. He is like a puppy dog and will follow me everywhere. He is very friendly and just loves Big Sister. He will eat ANYTHING that a human gives him, even icky medicine that the other goats fight me with. He appears to have more of a dairy build than Joey and his dam was a good milker, so I am hopeful that he will pass on nice milk genetics as well.

I would like to get another doe, maybe a yearling, after winter to round out the herd a bit. I plan on breeding my girls next year for summer kids. If I am blessed with a doeling I will be keeping a doeling from each of my does and selling any other kids (assuming I can part with them, I know I will fall in love!) I can't wait to start milking and making soap and cheese! I have been doing a lot of research so that I am prepared once the milk starts flowing.

We have a show coming up mid September and this time we will be taking the boys as well. I am new to goats so I am curious as to what the judges think of my little bucks!

Have a wonderful evening dear followers!

Goat Show Adventures

Well, last month I decided to show my goats at an American Dairy Goat Association sanctioned show about an hour away, but their time is an hour ahead of us. These are my first goats and I have never shown an animal my entire life, but I figured I might as well jump in with both feet. I loaded up the van at 4:00 A.M., yes people 4:00 A.M., and headed to pick up a friend of mine who has shown goats before. I am not a morning person, so, I kind of forgot a lot of things... like chairs, our puppy exercise pen since I wasn't sure if my goats could fit through their gates or not, shavings and ice for the cooler. I got gas, paid for the ice then forgot to get it, silly me. Had to make a quick pit stop to pick up shavings for the stall, thank goodness there was one bag left on the shelf!

After making pit stops for gas and shavings, then taking the wrong turn and going about 3 miles out of the way, we finally arrived about 7:35A.M. their time. We were just 5 minutes late, but so were a few others and they were still registering goats, so all was good. We got the girls unloaded and set up in their stall, the gates were wide enough they could just fit through them, so instead of enjoying the show we were baby sitting the whole day and taking turns if a breed came up that we wanted to see. Our class didn't start until 5:30 P.M., yes P.M. people. It was a very very very long day. It was a neat experience, I wasn't sure I wanted to show again after that long day but I met some more cool crazy goat people and they convinced me to take my girls to a show at the end of this month. I will be more prepared this time and I won't have to get up as early since it is local.

My girls hanging out in their stall at the show!

Overall, it was fun but exhausting. My Gold, Blue eyed doe, Prairie Wood Golden Dynasty "Dyna" placed 2nd out of 6 in her class. My Chamiosee colored doe, Prairie Wood Mariposa Vistosa "Mary" placed 6th in the same class. The judge was picking long bodied does all day and I knew Dyna woukd do much better because she is the longer bodied of the two. The girls had tough competition but I was pleased with how well they did all day and weren't stressed at all.  They just kind of went with the flow.

I have to admit, I am totally into this owning goats thing, they are so fun! I am sure there are many more adventures to come and I just can't wait until the are old enough to breed and milk!
I'm thinking Big Sister is totally into the goats too! :)

Have a great day dear followers!

Great Weekend, Good Life!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Allstate for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Last weekend I took a trip to Bloomington to watch my brother compete in hurdles at the High School Indiana State Finals in Track! The trip is about 2 1/2 hours long and I was thrilled that the girls slept the whole way there. We arrived early and decided to visit with Grandparents before the races. Thank goodness for good directions or I would have been wonderfing aimlessly through Bloomington. We had lunch, visited, and had an overall good time, then it was off to Indiana University to watch the track meet!

When we arrived, there were people and cars everywhere! Normally, I would have gotten a little freaked out. I am a country girl in every sense. I love the wide open spaces, little traffic, small crowds, and neighbor's that you can't throw a stone and reach their yard. So, as I arrived I almost went into panic mode, but realized all was good, I just needed to relax, and move on. I had no worries, I am living the Good Life!

Having a Good Life to me means being able to spend time with my family and friends and go places without worry, anxiety, or fear. I can enjoy the Good Life because we have taken steps to reduce the worry, anxiety, and fear in our lives. One way we have done this is by using Allstate and living the Allstate Good Life!

 photo allstatelogo_300x60_zps5487a605.jpg

Allstate’s “Good Hands for the Good Life” is new and different for an insurance company. It has a voice of optimism and celebration vs. fear. The Allstate brand commercial tells the story of how there are risks everywhere, but we as people don’t let it hold us back from making our lives good. Allstate is an insurance company who works everyday to help build more good in the lives of their customers.

Allstate believes that the notion of the Good Life is inherently social; it is already taking place in people’s natural social conversations and now Allstate has permission to join in because they are an insurance company who creates more good vs. take care of the bad.

So, how does the story end? I promise, I'm not going to leave you hanging!

I parked the car and made my way to the stands just in time, there were just two races ahead of my brother's race. Family and friends were in the stands, we were on our feet as the shot was fired and the hurdlers took off. WOW was he fast! As he cleared each hurdle, the excitement grew and grew! My brother finished 16th place overall out of 29. Pretty good considering he is a Sophomore and most of the others were Seniors. We were all very very proud of him and I will always remember being able to be there to watch him, carefree!

Let's mombo™

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Comfort and Harmony for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

New Moms and expectant moms, this post is for YOU!

I wish that I had known about this prodcut when my girls were newborns! The mombo nursing pillow gives you awesome comfort options to help aid in nursing. When my girls were infants I was given a Boppy Pillow. It was a little awkward for me to use as a nursing pillow so I mainly used it to help aid the girls when they were learning to sit up. I think that the mombo™ would have been a better option for me, especially for the fact that it has to different sides, one firm and one soft. *Please note that I do not have any personal experience with the mombo.*

"Moms love mombo™, the nursing pillow with more to love! Mombo has a unique shape and a two-sided design called Firm2Soft™, with each side offering a different experience. The firm side gives essential support for mommy and her nursing baby. The soft side is extra cozy—an inviting place for lounging or tummy time. And mombo is the only nursing pillow with a vibration feature, to give baby the ultimate soothing experience while lounging. Look for mombo’s assortment of pillow styles and slipcover fashions. Select your style from Standard, Deluxe or Nude™. Then choose multiple slipcover fashions so you'll always have a spare!" - as provided by mombo

The mombo™ nursing pillow can be found at Babies R Us or Toys R Us stores around the U.S.A.

Check out the cool features as provided on

  • Firm2Soft design: 2 distinct sides: Firm side for improved nursing support, Soft side for lounging or tummy time
  • Patent pending removable mombo vibration unit
  • Washable 2 sided brushed poly slipcover
  • Larger surface provides more growing room for baby

A Big Sting

Finally the weather is consistent and warm! Thank God! However, with warm weather comes BUGS! All types of bugs seem to be crawling around everywhere, inside and outside. Our most recent experience with a bug was with a not so nice bug.

Today we went out to play and Big Sister was playing nicely in the playhouse when all of a sudden she screamed bloody murder. Unbeknownst to me a wasp mama had made a nest in the inside roof line of the girls' playhouse. I looked up to see a wasp buzzing around her then diving down to sting her again. I ran to get Big Sister out of the play house and then set her down on the picnic table to assess the damages. She was only stung once, on her shoulder blade, but it was red and starting to swell a bit. She isn't severely allergic to bees or wasps (this is the seconded time this year she has been stung) so I wasn't worried about a serious reaction, but it still hurt badly so I ran in to get some reinforcements. My "Go To" for stings is allergy medicine and baking soda. I measured out the allergy meds and gave it to her orally, just to be sure she didn't have a reaction to the venom from the sting. Next, I mixed up a paste with baking soda and water and spread it over the sting. Instant relief, and the screaming ceased and swelling started going down. I don't know WHO figured out baking soda has this amazing quality, but if I did I would go up and hug and kiss them and thank them a million times.

So, moral of the story. Bugs are everywhere, even ones that pack a big punch, or sting rather. Check your children's play equipment and make sure a bug hasn't taken up residence in their toys! I know that this will be on my spring/summer checklist for next year for sure!

Have you encountered a not so friendly bug this yet this year?

Have a wonderful day dear followers and stay safe!

Standlee Hay Product Review

At the start of this blog I wrote about several horses we have around the farm. My husband and I spend a large about of our time taking care of rescue horses. We both have a great passion for horses and horses are what brought us together! So, when I was contacted by Standlee Hay Company, Inc. to review their Hay Products I was over joyed because the review would directly benefit one of our rescue horses!

"Standlee Hay Company, Inc. is a leader in the hay industry and proudly produces premium quality western hay forages and hay forage products.  They offer a complete line of baled hay forages, bagged forage products and other find products to make consumers feel confident that they are selecting hay forage products that are Pure, Natural and Nutritious for their animals." -Information provided by Standlee Hay Company, Inc.

Standlee Hay Company, Inc. has several different types of forage for sale designed to help feed your animals as each has different needs and circumstances. Their focus is on alfalfa, timothy grass, orchard grass and mixes of alfalfa/timothy and alfalfa/orchard grasses, however they also provide beet pulp, whole oats, and even horse treats. Their hay products come in cubes, mini cubes, and pellets.

Blade, our review subject for Standlee Alfalfa Hay Cubes!
Blade's topline
When feeding rescue horses, particularly those that are elderly with teeth issues, we like to feed hay cubes. I decided to check out Standlee's Alfalfa Hay Cubes for our elderly horse, Blade. Blade is a 28 year old Thoroughbred/Quarter Horse cross. He raced for several years before be retired to enjoy trail riding, mounted posse, and 4-H. Blade's previous owner had several life changes that made it impossible to take care of her horses, so she donated Blade and his buddy Sabrina to the horse rescue. Blade has proved to be quite the hard keeper. We have tried a lot of things to keep weight on him, regular deworming, teeth floating, and different diets designed for elderly horses. Out of all the horses on the farm, Blade is fed the MOST feed. The only thing we have not tried yet, is hay cubes!

Blade munching on cubes!
Blade LOVES his Standlee Alfalfa Hay Cubes! He can chew them easier than regular grass or alfalfa hay, as it is soaked in water before consumption. I actually believe he looks forward to them at breakfast and dinner time and although it may appear that it is not a large quantity of food, once it is soaked and expands the amount is amazing and the quality is great. We have tried other brands of Hay Cubes with horses in the past and the Standlee Alfalfa Cubes take a shorter amount of time to soak and expand completely. I am pretty sure it has to do with some of the binders that the other companies use to keep the cubes in their compact square shape.
Dry Standlee Alfalfa Hay Cubes
Soaked Standlee Alfalfa Hay Cubes (Half Eaten, lol)
Blade has not been on his cubes for a long enough time to see big results yet, but I can tell that they are helping little by little. I will be updating you all throughout his progress. The older the horse is, the harder it seems for them to put weight on, so it may be a couple months before we will see the noticeable difference that we are expecting from the Standlee Alfalfa Hay Cubes.

My Rating: A+ $$$
