Houston We Have.... EGGS!

My hens have started laying eggs!
Just thought I'd share my lovely first 1/2 dozen eggs from the chickens I bought at the end of April!
Waaahooo!

I am so over grocery store eggs, they just aren't the same. I know, I know, they all come from chickens (or ducks) but farm fresh eggs are just, better! I especially LOVE baking with duck eggs, everything is SUPER moist! I can't wait until my duckies start laying, right now I have 3 female ducks!

Any one else as excited as I am to find eggs in the coop? Its like hidden treasure!

Have a nice night dear followers!

I love the idea that these products are sold by women socially. It gives you a great opportunity to try products and learn from others as well as provides ladies with a way to make some extra money. The Mía Mariú products that I able to test out were the RestauraCel-C Microdermabrasion Refinisher Cream, RestauraCel-C Microdermabrasion Thermal Activator, Hydrating Anti-Aging Moisturizer with SPF 30+, Mineral Loose Powder Foundation (Marfil), and No.22 Brush.

I have to say, I thought the RestauraCel-C Microdermabrasion Refinisher Cream and RestauraCel-C Microdermabrasion Thermal Activator were really neat. The Refinisher Cream is off white in color and contains tiny granules and the Thermal Activator is clear. When you mix the two together they make a white foamy substance that create heats, which was really neat. The heat only lasts for a short while and as you rub the solution on your face it rubs in clear and looks a little greasy. Once it was scrubbed all over my face, I washed it off and my face was silky smooth. It had taken off all the dead skin and smoothed it out nicely.

I decided to rub on the Hydrating Anti-Aging Moisturizer with SPF 30+ after finishing with the ResturaCel-C Microdermabrasion. I have sensitive skin and a lot of lotions seem to burn when I apply them. The Hydrating Anti-Aging Moisturizer with SPF 30+ did burn a little but it wasn't intense and I imagine it had to do with the fact that I just scrubbed off the top layer of skin on my face. Either way, the slight burning only lasted a moment and then I was fine. The Hydrating Anti-Aging Moisturizer with SPF 30+ is white in color and thick, not watery at all. It did make my face look a little greasy after it was rubbed in, so I moved on to my next product to test out!

I used the No.22 Brush for the Mineral Loose Powder Foundation in Marfil, a foundation for really light colored skin. This color will probably work well for me in the winter months when I am not out in the sun, however, I could probably could probably use their Savanna color foundation year around. I am not a professional at using make up, but the foundation seemed to chump in the brush. I spread it on my face and tried to rub it in the best I could. It kind of caked then spread. I think I had more success spreading it with my hands than I did the brush. I also had to blot it with a barely moist towel to escape the caked look, which again may be user error. The foundation did help take away the redness in my face and from afar it made my complexion look smooth. Up close, however, I could see every pore on my face, its like it made them look even more obvious. So, needless to say I wasn't a huge fan of the No.22 Brush and Mineral Loose Powder Foundation but they did work just fine.

In the photo above you can see how much redness the powder foundation covered. The left photo is natural skin, no make up. The right photo is after applying the Mineral Loose Powder Foundation.

Overall, I was thrilled with the RestauraCel-C Microdermabrasion Refinisher Cream and RestauraCel-C Microdermabrasion Thermal Activator, the rest of the products I tested were good, I just didn't find them any different that most beauty products out there.

My Rating: B+$$$$
I would give the RestauraCel-C Microdermabrasion Refinisher Cream and RestauraCel-C Microdermabrasion Thermal Activator an A+ and the Hydrating Moisturizer SPF 30+, No.22 Brush, Mineral Loose Powder Foundation in Marfil all a B.

Cost: RestauraCel-C Thermal Microdermabrasion Set (2 oz./1.9 fl. oz) $55.00, Hydrating Anti-Aging Moisturizer with SPF 30+ (1.7oz) $44.00, Mineral Loose Powder Foundation (4.3g) $18.00, No. 22 Brush $22.00

Dermagist Hydrating Spa System Review & Giveaway

I'm not sure how many of you have heard of Dermagist Skin Care Products (previously called Dermajuv), but I surely hadn't, until recently. I was introduced to this skin care line through their Hydrating Spa System. This System includes 3 of Dermagist most popular products, the Hydropeutic Body Lotion, Hydro-Renewal Hand Cream, and the Foot & Heel Revitalizing Cream.

I have to admit at first I was a little skeptical because when I squirted out a little of each product on my hands they had a hint of a "chemical" smell to them, but after being rubbed in the "chemical" smell dissipated.

Here is a bit of information from the Dermagist website about each product as well as my complete review/reaction of each:

Hydropeutic Body Lotion

Dermagist Description: "Finally a deep-hydrating body lotion that relaxes the skin with soothing teas, moisturizes and targets wrinkles with wrinkle fighting ingredients, and smooths rough and dry skin with beneficial moisture adding ingredients."

My Review/Reaction: The Hydropeutic Body lotion is thin but does not have the consistency of water. It is light and has a clean fragrance . I have very sensitive skin and I was able to use this lotion right after I had gotten a burn on my back and arms. It didn't make the burn feel worse and it actually seemed to prevent the skin from peeling, which was awesome. I only peeled on my shoulder where I forgot to put the lotion. I also LOVED this product on my legs, I have very dry skin on my legs and it helped them soften and sooth out a lot much nicer that anything I've used in the past!

Hydro-Renewal Hand Cream

Dermagist Description: "An anti aging inspired cream for the hands that ALSO deeply nourishes dry, rough skin. Whether your hands have spots and wrinkles or dryness and cracks, this cream is ideal for you."

My Review/Reaction: The Hydro-Renewal Hand Cream has a very light citrus fragrance that isn't overwhelming. The consistency is heavier and a bit thicker than the Body Lotion but makes your hands feel silky smooth after being rubbed in. I am a stay at home mom and I work around our farm, and unfortunately I don't really take that good care of my hand. Well, this Hand Cream has done wonders for me. It helped my calluses and softened my hands.

Foot & Heel Revitalizing Cream

Dermagist Description:  "A serious cream for dry, cracked heels that can also be enjoyed by those looking for a comforting, soothing foot cream. The best of both worlds combined in this 7-key-ingredient foot cream."

My Review/Reaction: The Foot & Heel Revitalizing Cream is by far my favorite of the three products! It has a nice Peppermint fragrance similar to Vicks Vapor Rub but much lighter and less intense. I found this product so refreshing on my feet. It gives a very light tingly sensation which is amazing, many times I actually found myself rubbing it  around my ankles and all the way up my shins, because I loved the light sensation on my tired legs after a long day. I also have VERY dry feet that crack, it helped with cracking and softened the calluses.

Overall, I was VERY impressed with the Dermagist Hydrating Spa System. I would recommend these products to anyone, whether you have dry skin or not. Dermagist just makes great products to help keep your skin feeling and looking young.

Also, the GREAT thing about Dermagist is that they have a 30 Day Guarantee:
"You get a 30 day, Money Back Guarantee, where if you are unsatisfied for any reason, just return the products, for a REFUND.This way, you get to try this fantastic product practically risk free! store policies"

God's Strength in Me

I was sitting on my couch reading Share Jesus Without Fear when the wind picked up and it began to pour rain. The wind was pretty strong and I noticed the branches on the tree in our front yard seemed saggy and a bit closer to the house than normal. I watched the trees across the street as the tops swayed back and forth in the wind, almost violently.

I began to think how amazing it was that these tall trees could withstand so many storms and being tossed back and forth in the wind. They stand tall with a living, healthy trunk that gives them amazing stability but room to give to the wind without breaking. Now, on another hand, we have a dying tree in our backyard. So far we have lost at least 5-6 very large and heavy limbs during storms this year. During one storm a branch fell on our van, denting the hood and cracked the windshield.

I began to think of God, my Faith in Him, and my relationship with Jesus Christ. It is like the healthy tree that stands strong. Inevitably, there will be a storm or hard times that shake the branches and may cause the tree to sway, but remaining strong in Faith keeps me rooted and able to withstand anything that comes my way. The storm also has positive affects as well, the rain helps the tree grow and gain further strength just as hard times strengthen my Faith and relationship with Jesus. But remember also that the trees do not grow tall over night, relationships with Christ are a long term process and commitment that takes time and good nourishment (which can be found in reading the Bible and going to church).

I changes my thoughts to the dying tree. It is like those that have not accepted Christ as their Savior. Although, the majority of the tree looks nice and blooms, it is dying at its very foundation and if you look close enough you can see death spreading up the tree.  It will eventually fall without intervention. The storms have no positive effect on the tree and the excess water can actually rot the wood and weaken it.

I thank God that I am strong in Him and I encourage you all to seek Him. If you look around you can learn so much about God, just from the world around you. Also, don't get discouraged, everyone starts as a seed and has to grow! A great place to start is by talking to a pastor, ask Him about God and how you can have a relationship with Jesus.

I would like to give you all some encouragement through a Bible Verse that has been on my heart for the past month or so:

"I can do ALL things through Christ who gives me Strength." Philippians 4:13

I also found another passage that fits well with the theme of this post. It is a prayer for spiritual strength found in Ephesians 3:14-21 ESV

14 For this reason I bow my knees before the Father,15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named,16 that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being,17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love,18 may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth,19 and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
20 Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us,21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

eMeals Planning Guide

Okay, so I need some help. I am a very disorganized person in general and meal planning just isn't a piece of cake for me. I also hate grocery shopping and "wing it" most of the time. This method was getting old and just not working well (go figure), so I decided enough was enough.

Plum District has a great deal going on for eMeals right now. When you buy a subscription to this website you get easy to make dinner meal recipes and grocery lists made specifically for you! A one year subscription is normally $58.00 but if you buy a voucher through Plum District you can get a year for $29.00, so I broke down and decided to give it a try! Now, this deal is only available until 9/8/2012 so if you think this may be something you are interested in, hurry up and grab it now before you have to pay full price!

If you catch this post AFTER the deal is up but still love the idea, you can click the banner below to go to the eMeals website learn more and buy a subscription! Also, subscriptions can be for less than a year as well, so if you only was to test it for a couple months you can buy a 3 or 6 month subscription instead of one year.

SAVE TIME AND MONEY WITH EMEALS MEAL PLANS
I am hoping that this helps me become more organized and helps remove some anxiety and stress over what to feed the family! Please stay tuned and I will share my experience with eMeals in the future!

How do you plan your family's meals? Have any tips or tricks you can share with me?

Have a wonderful day dear followers!
