25 Days of CHRISTmas: Days 4-12

Okay, so I got a little over ambitious about posting EVERY day for the 25 days of CHRISTMAS... should have known better! Anyways, here are the Verses for Days 4-12, sit back and relax cause this one is a long one:

Days 4-12
Verses: 1 Peter 4:1-10 NLT
So then, since Christ suffered physical pain, you must arm yourselves with the same attitude he had, and be ready to suffer, too. For if you have suffered physically for Christ, you have finished with sin. You won’t spend the rest of your lives chasing your own desires, but you will be anxious to do the will of God. You have had enough in the past of the evil things that godless people enjoy—their immorality and lust, their feasting and drunkenness and wild parties, and their terrible worship of idols.
Of course, your former friends are surprised when you no longer plunge into the flood of wild and destructive things they do. So they slander you. But remember that they will have to face God, who will judge everyone, both the living and the dead. That is why the Good News was preached to those who are now dead—so although they were destined to die like all people, they now live forever with God in the Spirit.
The end of the world is coming soon. Therefore, be earnest and disciplined in your prayers. Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins. Cheerfully share your home with those who need a meal or a place to stay.
God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.
What does this mean to me? As a Christian I am a changed person. My desires will now be centered towards God and his will and not my own. I should not worry what the lost think for they will be judge by God, all I can do is witness the truth. I should do this earnestly because no one knows when the end is near! I also have special gifts and need to act on them and use them as God wants me to! Not only does Christmas remind me of the Gift of Jesus Christ, but also of the wonderful Spiritual gifts that God has given me through the Holy Spirit! How GREAT is our God!

Have a great evening dear followers and THANK you for hanging in there with me on this goof up!

25 Days of CHRISTmas: Day 3

Day 3
Verse: Hebrews 5:7 NLT
While Jesus was here on earth, he offered prayers and pleadings, with a loud cry and tears, to the one who could rescue him from death. And God heard his prayers because of his deep reverence for God.
What does this mean to me? If Jesus needed to offer prayers and pleadings during His time of trials and suffering, how more so should I pray and plead! And if I go to God in the same manner as Jesus, God will hear my pleas.

May God Bless you dear followers!

25 Days of CHRISTmas: Day 2

Recap Day 1: Follow God and let my conscience be my guide.
Day 2
Verse: Hebrews 2:14-15 NLT
Because God’s children are human beings—made of flesh and blood—the Son also became flesh and blood. For only as a human being could he die, and only by dying could he break the power of the devil, who had the power of death. Only in this way could he set free all who have lived their lives as slaves to the fear of dying.
What does this mean to me?  I am a daughter of God, but as a human I am tainted by the sinful nature passed down to me through the line of Adam. I am saved from my sins because God gave me a marvelous gift, Jesus Christ his son, who paid the ultimate price for me! And because he was perfect, made perfect, only He could be the one to set me free from my sins. How wonderful it is that my sins are washed away because of Him. I am so thankful for the ultimate gift. Christmas is a time to reflect on that gift given to us, a precious baby that became more than just a man, God's son! Because He died for me and my sins, I want to do all that I can for Him and to further His Kingdom!

God Bless you dear followers!

25 Days of CHRISTmas

I am going to attempt to setting goals for myself and family during the 25 days of Christmas. I am going to work towards putting Christ first and learning what he wants for me in my life!
Day 1
Verse: 1 Timothy 1:19 NLT
Cling to your faith in Christ, and keep your conscience clear. For some people have deliberately violated their consciences; as a result, their faith has been shipwrecked.
What does this mean to me? Always do what is right in the eyes of the Lord and do not disobey because if I am able to ignore what God wants for me once, it becomes easier and easier to continue to follow the wrong path and end up in distruction.
May Peace be with you dear followers and always let your conscience (the Holy Spirit) be your guide!
Have a wonderful day dear followers!

As the kings are welcomed into the home, they speak about their long journey to give gifts to a wondrous child. True Thanksgiving

Every day is a day of Thankgiving to our Lord, not just the 4th Thursday in November.

Why should we give thanks?

Hebrews 12:28 says:

Therefore, since we are recieving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our "God is a consuming fire."

But the greatest reason of all is stated in John 3:16-17

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him

Eternal LIFE! Wow, that is pretty amazing and THAT is worth being Thankful for every day!

How do we show our thanksgiving?

Be joyful always, pray continuously, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you  in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

In David's Psalm of Thanks in 1 Chronicles 16:8-36 you can feel the intensity, passion, and love that David had for the Lord in each word and phrase. It is absolutly beautiful and I would like to share it with you. So sit back and get comfortable, its a long one!

Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name;
make known among the nations what he has done.

Sing to him, sing praise to him;
tell of all his wonderful acts.

Glory in his holy name;
let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.

Look to the Lord and his strength;
seek his face always.

Remember the wonders he has done,
his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced,

you his servants, the descendants of Israel,
his chosen ones, the children of Jacob.

He is the Lord our God;
his judgments are in all the earth.

He remembers his covenant forever,
the promise he made, for a thousand generations,

the covenant he made with Abraham,
the oath he swore to Isaac.

He confirmed it to Jacob as a decree,
to Israel as an everlasting covenant:

“To you I will give the land of Canaan
as the portion you will inherit.”

When they were but few in number,
few indeed, and strangers in it,

they wandered from nation to nation,
from one kingdom to another.

He allowed no one to oppress them;
for their sake he rebuked kings:

“Do not touch my anointed ones;
do my prophets no harm.”

Sing to the Lord, all the earth;
proclaim his salvation day after day.

Declare his glory among the nations,
his marvelous deeds among all peoples.

For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise;
he is to be feared above all gods.

For all the gods of the nations are idols,
but the Lord made the heavens.

Splendor and majesty are before him;
strength and joy are in his dwelling place.

Ascribe to the Lord, all you families of nations,
ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.

Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name;
bring an offering and come before him.
Worship the Lord in the splendor of his
Or Lord with the splendor of
holiness.

Tremble before him, all the earth!
The world is firmly established; it cannot be moved.

Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad;
let them say among the nations, “The Lord reigns!”

Let the sea resound, and all that is in it;
let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them!

Let the trees of the forest sing,
let them sing for joy before the Lord,
for he comes to judge the earth.

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
his love endures forever.

Cry out, “Save us, God our Savior;
gather us and deliver us from the nations,
that we may give thanks to your holy name,
and glory in your praise.”

Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel,
from everlasting to everlasting.
Then all the people said “Amen” and “Praise the Lord.”

Have a VERY Blessed Thanksgiving!

Jasper the Mule Childrens DVD Review

Both of my daughters have a love for horses, however they both have an infatuation with donkeys. Whenever I take them to the barn, they casually look around, check out the horses, play with the barn cats and then ask me to go see the donkeys. We currently have two donkeys that live at the farm, Samuel and Solomon. Both came from not so great pasts but both have made great improvements. This summer we learned that Samuel would accept a young rider, which is saying a lot since when he arrived he would just assume kick you as look at you. He just LOVES kids and after several months of coaxing from our friend's 10 year old grandson, Samuel decided life was okay here and that he could trust us (okay the kids at least). Big Sister was the first to "ride" Samuel, that first day, he acted like he was carrying precious glass that could be broken with the wrong move. I was amazed! I think that that day was the day Big Sister REALLY developed her infatuation with donkeys.
  About a month ago I was contacted by Cheryl Pollak, the producer of a children's animated series, "Jasper the Mule." I was excited and honored at the opportunity for us to review "Jasper the Mule" , espeically since the girls love horses and donkeys so much.

 "Jasper the Mule" is a series of holiday-based 22 minute specials following a young mule named Jasper and his best friend, a Jack Russell Terrier named Moxie, on their adventures.
Screen shot from JasperTheMule.com
I knew that my girls would love these specials and boy was that an understatement. There isn't a day that goes by that my girls don't ask me to watch "Donkeys" as they call it. They don't quiet get the concept that a mule is a cross between a donkey and a horse, yet. To them, are the same thing. Anyways, "Jasper the Mule" was a HUGE hit in my home! My girls are 3 and 1 1/2 now and just get a kick out of Jasper and his adventures. I have to admit that they are addiciting to watch for adults as well, my favorite is the Valentine special. Althought, after the girls fighting over and pulling out the "Jasper the Mule" DVD out of the drawer constantly for me to play, it has scratches now that affect our Valentines special a little bit.

 As a parent, I found it very neat and educational that during each special the animals discuss the "meaning of" or the "reason" people celebrate that particular event/holiday. The language and conversations between characters are poliet and not contriversial. The subjects are relevent, up to date, and enjoyable for the whole family. The colors are also vibrant and attractive for children.

Overall, we gave "Jasper the Mule" 10 FINGERS UP because we loved it!

My Rating: A+ $$$$
Cost: $24.99 per DVD (one show per DVD) or $139.99 for The Jasper Movie Bundle  (6 DVDs)

Basic H Review & Giveaway

Claire, a Shaklee Director, and author of Claire's Healthy Home  asked me to check out Shaklee’s #1 selling cleaning product is Basic H2® Organic Super Cleaning Concentrate. It is naturally derived, supersafe, and a superconcentrated formula with a thousand uses.

This product can be used on any washable surface – indoors or out: Walls, Windows and Mirrors, Countertops, Floors, Appliances, Stoves, Sealed Woodwork, Pots and Pans, Furniture

Each little vial holds enough Basic H2 to make two bottles of powerful cleaner when diluted in 16 ounces of water.

Directions
First, mix 2 drops to 16 oz. of water in a Spray Bottle for cleaning windows and mirrors. Then, mix 1/4 tsp. to 16 oz. of water in a Spray Bottle for all-purpose cleaning.

Here is Claire's video: How to mix Basic H  For more information read THIS POST

My experience with Basic H2® Organic Super Cleaning Concentrate was awesome! As with any cleaning product, I test its strength in the bathroom! Why? Well, because we live on a farm and the bathroom tends to get the most grime from the sheer fact that you get REALLY dirty on a farm.
So, I started with the dreaded sink as always, check out the results:

I found that with really dirty areas it worked best if I let the area soak in the Basic H for a few minutes. I didn't really have to do much scrubbing, the Basic H seemed to lift the dirt off the surface and made it relatively easy to just wipe away. I was very pleased with its cleaning ability as well as with the fact that it didn't stink link normal cleaners. There wasn't an overbearing ordor during or after the bathroom was cleaned, which is a HUGE plus for me.

Little Sister had left a HUGE mess in her BebePod Chair after dinner one night and I didn't get to cleaning it until it was already dry and stuck on the chair. The once white straps were a brownish mixture of dinner that night and I thought they would NEVER get clean. I decided to clean the seat and soak the straps in the Basic H. I wish I had thought to get photos of the chair and straps, but my Mommy brain kicked in and I totally forgot. I was so excited when all the grime just wiped off the chair and it looked like new! I used a little nail scrubber brush on the straps and they came out almost as white as the had origonally been. I was totally shocked, this prodcut really works!

Along with its amazing ability to clean, I LOVE the fact that is safe! Safe for the environment and safe for me to use around our pets and children! Basic H is nontoxic, contains no toxic fumes, hypoallergenic, contains no hazardous chemicals, no chlorine, no kerosene, no dodecylbenzene-sulfonate, no phenol, no cresol, no lye, no morpholine, no petroleum distillates, no benezene, no ammonia, and no paradichlorobenzene. Did you know that in 2005 there were 218,316 poison exposures from household cleaning prodcuts? I venture to guess that those numbers are even higher now. If your a mom life me, you DO NOT want any of your family members to be included in that statistic!

Overall, I think the Basic H2® Organic Super Cleaning Concentrate is an amazing cleaner. I would recommend this product for anyone wanting to use Green products or even Mom's who clean with their children around. You don't have to worry about them accidently getting into any harmful chemicals!

My Rating: A+ $$
Cost: $12.15 for 16oz (makes 48 gallons of All-Purpose Cleaner)

Confessions: Self Doubt

Self Doubt is my biggest weakness in general, but even more so when it comes to my Faith. Unfortunately, much more often that I'd care to admit, a tiny voice in my head tells me to play it safe, don't take risks, that there is always someone out there that can do things better than me, that I am a nobody, I couldn't possibly help lead someone to finding Christ, or make a difference. I've been slowly coming to the realization that the voice is Not from God. That voice wants me to fail, falter, and give in because if I do, I Can't/Won't make a different. And by make a difference, I don't mean something huge like curing World Hunger over night (although that would be amazing), I am talking about the small things, small things that when added up over time DO make a difference.

I can't quote the Bible inside and out, but sometimes people just need your encouragement because the Faith inside you pours out and envelopes them. When you are a Christian on the inside, it overflows onto the outside where people can see it. Sometimes to make a difference, you just need to send a text, or pick up the phone and make a call, or send a card.  The more I do the little things that make a difference, the more the self doubt seems to be left behind because I know that I don't HAVE to do something huge to make a difference for the Kingdom of God. I just have to care enough to try and do things for all the right reasons.

When I begin to feel that Self Doubt is creeping in, I have begun to reflect on Phillipians 4:13 "For I can do all things through Christ, who gives me strength." and 2 Timothy 1:7 "For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline." The first verse is my Go To Verse, I repeat it to myself over and over for encouragement. The second gives me a strong drive to continue on and be bold!

I'm not going to lie, sometimes I believe that voice in my head and Self Doubt rears its ugly head. During those times God knows exactly when I need Him and I always hear or see those verses in the strangest places and at oddest times, but they are always there!

How do you handle Self Doubt? Are there Bible verses that help you with the battle?

Have a wonderful day dear followers and God Bless!

Easy Canvas Prints Review & Giveaway

My cousin has a pretty cute canvas of her daughter in their living room, and every time I go to her house I just sit and admire it. I don't know where she got it from, but it always draws me in. I've been waiting and waiting to find a way to try out a canvas print myself but didn't want to have to go through a photographer or photo studio to do it. We tend to be very busy and scheduling a time to get photos done seems to be one of the last things on my list of "To Dos."

Easy Canvas PrintsA great solution for me was Easy Canvas Prints, a site where you can transform your digital photos to photos on canvas! They even have a nice selection of stock photos, if you are looking for art to place around your home!

Their website is SUPER user friendly. You get to choose your canvas size, wrap thickness, color effects, border and display options! They also give you the option of uploading your own photo, accessing a photo from your facebook or instagram!

I chose to use a photo of Big Sister riding one of our horses as my photo on canvas!
The process to go from photo to canvas was super easy, here is a sneak peek:

I have to say, I was super anxious for my canvas to arrive and to my surprise the shipping was fast, even for their standard shipping option.

When the package arrived the box was a little dented on the edge. I was a little worried the mail carriers had been too rough but when I opened the package the canvas was safe and sound and had not been damaged one bit!

The quality was excellent and I just love my photo on canvas. The ONLY thing I wish I would have done differently was use a photo with a closer shot of Big Sister's face. Because her face is so tiny in this photo, the texture of the canvas kind of makes it hard to see all her features.
Big Sister LOVES her photo on canvas!

Overall, I was impressed with the ease of use and the quality of canvas prints from EasyCanvasPrints.com I would highly recommend this site for those looking for quality custom canvas from your own digital photos!
